Although there are still a few games to go, coach Jose Riveiro believes the upcoming clash against SuperSport United will decide where Orlando Pirates end up on the DStv Premiership table.

Third-placed Pirates go into the fixture on the back of some decent form, with three wins and two losses from their last five league fixtures. They meet second-placed SuperSport United who are a spot above them on the log table and five points ahead.

Gavin Hunt's charges have also won three of their last five league matches but unlike Pirates, are without a loss.

"We will play finals until the end," Riveiro said on Wednesday.

"In the league, in the Nedbank, every game is going to be crucial for all of us; the ones who are playing [to avoid] relegation and the ones who are playing for the top four positions, for the possibility to play in Africa next season.

"It goes without saying, that for Pirates, it’s important to find ourselves in that position [of playing continental competitions] next season.

"There are more teams fighting for the same objectives with us in this moment and SuperSport is the one with a better advantage.

"So, like I said, it’s an opportunity to get three points, while at the same time [stop] our immediate opponents [for continental football] from getting the points. That’s’ it.

"So when we don’t play against them, we are waiting and expecting they don’t get the points in their own games and this time it’s opportunity to do it ourselves.

"We don’t have to check the form the next day after to see how the opponents played, we have the chance to do it ourselves. We have the chance to get the three points and make sure that they don’t."

"There are still many games to play, it [SuperSport United match] is one of those moments of the season that will determine where we are in the end."
