GLOBAL superstar Tyla is coming home to Mzansi to receive another major honour.
Born Tyla Laura Seethal in Joburg, the two-time Grammy Award winner will receive the International Achievement Award at the 32nd SAMAs at Sun City Superbowl, North West on Saturday, 15 August.
This is the second time the 24-year-old star will receive the award, making her only the second artist after Black Coffee to receive it twice.
The award celebrates Tyla’s impact on the global music scene and her role in putting South African music and culture on the international map.
The Watermelon Sugar singer has enjoyed a massive international career with hits including Water, Truth or Dare, Jump, and Push 2 Start.
Her Grammy-winning hit Water helped propel her onto the global stage and earned her international recognition.

Tyla’s homecoming is being supported by South African beauty brand, AfriPure, which is sponsoring the International Achievement Award.
AfriPure co-founder, Grant Heynes said Tyla represents the confidence and ambition of a new generation of South African artists.
“Tyla represents the confidence, creativity and global ambition that we believe in at AfriPure and we’re proud to support a moment that celebrates her achievements on home soil,” he said.
SAMA32 is also expected to shine a spotlight on the North West, with organisers positioning the award ceremony as a platform to promote tourism, culture, business and the creative industry in the province.
The award ceremony will bring together some of South Africa’s biggest music stars, emerging artists, industry players and music lovers.
With Tyla returning home to collect another major accolade, all eyes will be on the global star when she takes the Sama stage.
