LEKOMPO star, Shebeshxt will remain behind bars.
The musician, whose real name is Katlego Lehlogonolo Chauke, lost his fourth bail bid when the Polokwane High Court dismissed his second bail appeal on Wednesday, 5 August.
Judge Karim Pillay ruled that Shebeshxt failed to convince the court that there were exceptional circumstances to justify his release.
The ruling is another blow for the prominent Limpopo musician, who has been fighting for bail since his arrest in November 2025.
Shebeshxt faces 21 charges, including culpable homicide, reckless driving and three counts of attempted murder.
Delivering judgment, Pillay said the court was not persuaded by the alleged new facts presented by the defence.
“Most of the alleged new facts relied upon by the appellant were not genuinely new facts but merely a repetition, reshuffling or enhancement of the evidence already presented during the initial bail proceedings,” said the judge.
Pillay further found that, despite claims of a weak state case, Shebeshxt failed to place exceptional circumstances before the court.
“The order of the magistrate refusing the admission to bail can’t be said to have been wrong.

“Cumulatively, all the facts raised did not establish exceptional circumstances,” said Pillay.
The court found that the requirements of Section 60(11)(a) of the Criminal Procedure Act were not met.
Dismissing the appeal, Pillay ruled: “In the result, the appeal against the refusal of bail is dismissed.”
Outside court, some of Shebeshxt’s supporters said they were disappointed, but would continue to stand by him.
“Just because he’s facing challenges doesn’t mean we must abandon him. We’ve known him for a while and we’re still going to support him,” said one supporter.
Limpopo Artists Movement chairman, Mphoza Mashabela also expressed disappointment.
“We’re disappointed. We believe the legal team submitted new facts,” he said.
