GOSPEL singer Luyanda Ramatswi feels he’s blessed after getting in studio with gospel legend, Kholeka Dubula.

They released their new song titled Ungumhlobo last year and Luyanda is over the moon.

The star from Tshwane spoke to SunBuzz about working with the iconic singer.

“Working with Kholeka was one of the best things that has ever happened in my life. I learnt a lot from her and I realised that she’s a child of God. She doesn’t just sing gospel. You know, it’s hard finding a sister or mother figure in the industry, but in sis’ Kholeka, I found a sister and mum,” he said.

He said they got to perform the song together last month and the experience of being on stage with her was out of this world.

“I thank God because we got to perform together at the Thobela FM Gospel Festival in Limpopo last month and we got a lot of love from the audience,” he said.

Speaking about the song, Luyanda said it speaks to his life and things he’s gone through.

“I faced a lot of things growing up, but God was always with me. This song speaks about that. In 2018, I got poisoned and Jesus protected me. In 2019, I lost my mum and last year, I got into a car accident where the car rolled twice and here I am, still living. The song is to thank God for his protection and mercy because I believe that my purpose has not yet materialised and that’s why God protected me,” he said.

“He wants me to sing and change lives. Gospel music is not like other genres, it’s meant to heal and that’s what God wants me to do,” he continued.

Luyanda will be releasing a new album, his sixth, this Easter.

“I made sure to make an album that will have an impact. It took me two years to record this album and I thank God for helping me work with beautiful souls,” he said.
