Singer Kelly Khumalo is happy to share her new work with fans.
Following months of anticipation, the multi-award-winning singer performed an exclusive album showcase at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park on Saturday, 18 February.
Her newly released album is titled From a God to a King.
“The inspiration behind the title comes from accepting the supernatural being that I am but had to downgrade to kingship for human consumption,” she said.

“Her Vocal Highness”, as Kelly’s known to her loving fans, treated the audience to an evening of Afro pop, gospel and soul.
Her lead singles Bazokhuluma and Akathintwa are already firm favourites on South African playlists. However, she said Uyathandwa is her favourite song on this album.
“Uyathandwa is my favourite simply because it helped me get over my insecurities as a writer,” she said.

The album is said to be one of the best pieces of music, from the production to the amazing vocals.
It features artists such as Sbu Soule, Mbuso Khoza, Zakwe Mthunzi, as well as Mondli Ngcobo.
“To be able to share my journey with my loyal fans, friends and family is incredibly special.
“I am very excited to be celebrating this milestone album and my career with them,” Kelly said.
“The challenge with this project was having more songs than I initially wanted, and that meant going back to the drawing board and restructuring the approach to the album.”
