Cape Town City announced the departure of veteran midfielder Mpho Makola.

Makola joined the Citizens from Orlando Pirates in 2019 and went on to rack up 94 appearances for City, scoring three goals during his stay at the club.

His contract was due to lapse at the end of June this year; however, the club has opted to release him before his contract ends.

“City has agreed to part ways with Mpho Makola by mutual agreement. The club thanks Bibo for his contribution throughout the years ,” said City in a short statement released on social media.

Makola joins the long list of veteran [players that are currently unemployed, such as Happy Jele.
