"Along the way, I will be inviting participants to join me for portions of the walk, share their stories, and engage in writing workshops. The project emphasises the power of human connection, the importance of mental health, and the potential for personal transformation," Dondolo said.
A core component of the initiative is fundraising to advance the cause of Back to My Roots.
"The Moral Regeneration Roadshow is a program of the Khayelitsha Arts Leadership Academy. By purchasing my books or making a donation, individuals can contribute to creating a positive impact on this initiative, which aims to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need," she said.
Dondolo said she will be using her books as a tangible fundraising tool. She will be launching her award-nominated book, Ancestral Memories, as part of heritage celebrations."The walk is scheduled to conclude on 22 September.
