Mid-year, Grammy award-winning DJ Black Coffee became talk of the town and found himself under the spotlight with his Venezuelan-born model girlfriend, Victoria Gonzalez. That was after Black Coffee's public and messy divorce from top actress Enhle Mbali. The timeline sparked lots of chatter, with fans wondering if Black Coffee's romance with Victoria started before he and Mbali separated.

March saw former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi become talk of town when she got married to her childhood sweetheart Luthando Bolowana in the Eastern Cape. Their white and traditional wedding ceremonies dominated social media conversations.

Renowned TV and radio presenter Anele Mdoda broke the internet when she tied the knot with her partner, a Xhosa prince and lawyer, Bonelela "Buzza" James, in highly publicised wedding ceremonies. What caught Mzansi's attention was the heartfelt message Buzza penned to his queen, a message that had social media in full brown feels.

Former Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert and her hubby Enrico Vermaak became the big topic online, thanks to their wedding in Cape Town in March. The wedding, dubbed "wedding of the decade" by the fans, was followed by a surprise pregnancy announcement in October.

Former Idols SA-winner and current Gagasi FM presenter Khaya Mthethwa found happiness once again and tied the knot with his new wife, Sine Mthethwa in October. Khaya shared a picture of their wedding on socials and there was buzz everywhere. Khaya's previous marriage to Ntandoyenkosi Kunene was publicly celebrated but sadly, it ended in 2019.

DJ Tira's son Samkelo Shezi broke the internet when he paid lobola for his fiancee Mbali Dlamini in May. As the duo is both popular content creators, Mzansi thought the lobola payment was still part of their content. However, they denied and said they are in a "real love relationship".

Public engagement between Ukhozi FM presenter Bingelela Mpanza and maskandi musician Mongezi "Mayoghurt" Jama made headlines. Mayoghurt asked Bingelela to marry him in a romantic supper at the Suncoast Casino in Durban in May, and Bingelela said "Yes".
