AFTER weeks of recovery from severe injuries, deep house DJ and producer Chymamusique made his return to the stage over the weekend.

The 35-year-old DJ was involved in a serious car accident that left him badly injured and tragically claimed several lives including that of fellow Deep Soul DJ, Poizen.

Chymamusique, whose real name is Collen Mmotla, has been sharing his recovery journey on social media.

The Limpopo-born deep house maestro is widely known for tracks such as Speak Lord (Retro Remix) and Lost in Words (Main Saxed).

He took to Instagram to record himself after performing for the first time since the accident.

"After last night I can confidently take one gig per weekend only around Gaugeteng until 17th October. Physically I'm healing, emotionally and mentally I have therapy sessions starting next week, spiritually God is making way," he wrote.

In a follow-up video, he expressed gratitude to his supporters.

"Thanks everyone for words of kindness and encouragement. I enjoyed playing man. It's been a while since I played music which is one of my callings, so it was quite comforting to play music, thank you," he said.

Chymamusique also opened up about the financial pressure he faced during his recovery.

"The day I'm able to get out of this bed, I'm gonna go out there and impact lives positively with my testimony, challenges and experiences. One day at a time, one step at a time," he said.

He admitted that the past few months have been incredibly challenging, but also full of valuable life lessons.

"There's a lot l'm learning through this tough phase and I wouldn't wanna go six feet without sharing it. I know it's gonna help the next person. Please, appreciate where you are in life, a lot can change in a split second. Blessed day ahead. Chat soon," he added.
