DJ SBU is back with a bang.
The legendary musician, entrepreneur and all-around powerhouse is making a major splash with a three-in-one comeback that spans music, books and luxury cars.
DJ Sbu, whose real name is Sbusiso Leope WeNkosi, told Daily Sun why he decided to combine so many exciting projects into one.
He said: "I've always been known for doing different things in this industry and also doubling up as an entrepreneur. So, there isn't any better way to use these things because the music I have been working on since Covid-19 lockdown, the book I've been working on since Covid-19 lockdown as well.
"And the last time I released a book was 2018. So, when I closed this deal with VW, I saw it as a great opportunity to not only announce our collaboration, but to also announce the book and the music."
The album is set for release in February 2026 and will feature musicians such as Hle, Lady Du, Ntoshi, Tina Ador from Kenya, Sarah Ikuu from London, Novi Superstar, as well as Zolani Mahola.
"I decided to go with an album because even though people say singles are the way to go right now, that's not me. Everything I've done has always been full bodies of work, from my music to my books to my entrepreneurial ventures, both the ones that failed and the ones that succeeded.

"I've always believed in long-term planning and putting out stuff that leaves a legacy and also expresses my own talent through all these different things that I do. Plus, for me, it's not about hits anymore, it's about releasing music that matters," he said.
The album's release will coincide with his book, Born 4 Purpose: Becoming A King, where DJ Sbu shares his spiritual journey.
"I'm going to explain there in that book about my spiritual journey, what I've had to go through over the years, spiritually, my growth, things that I've had to encounter.
"And people are asking me about my new double barrel setting. People are asking: ‘Why am I changing my name? Why am I wearing isiphandla?' All those types of things. I share all of that knowledge in that book," he said.
And as if that's not enough, DJ Sbu is entering the motoring world with VW Barons Woodmead in Joburg. The collaboration will see 100 limited-edition vehicles hitting the market, including the Polo Vivo MoFaya, Amarok and Golf 8.5.
"What I love about it is that it expresses innovation, it expresses being fearless, it expresses also just getting out of your comfort zone. I decided, no, why don't we do our own range, my own range of limited-edition more fire cars that we're going to sell together. I will design them together with you guys and then we'll just start with a few and see how that goes.
"My share of the money from those that are sold will go to the foundation. We are funding students, university students, because we know some of them struggle with their registration fees. So, we hope people will buy these cars," DJ Sbu added.
