THE family of Vusi Ma R5 is still searching for answers.
Despite the passing of time, they remained in the dark about the circumstances surrounding his murder.
The 34-year-old king of Barcadi, whose real name was Itumeleng Mosoeu, was gunned down on 30 January 2023.
Ma R5 was well-known for his beloved Barcadi songs, Tse nnyane and Thaba ke changitse.
His uncle, Novis Shakwane, said they were struggling to move forward, especially as they believe that justice has not been served in Vusi's case.
He told Daily Sun the family felt the cops were not doing their job.
"It was going to be better if the police said they had questioned someone or that they have a lead," he said.
Novis said he believed murder cases were not followed, particularly when there were no witnesses to provide leads.

"The police want easy come and easy go cases. But with murder cases, once it seems like there is no witness, they don't bother with them," he said.
He said that Vusi's wife and kids were strong and going on with life as they were trying to maintain normalcy.
Addressing concerns about the state of Vusi's tombstone, Novis clarified that the initial tombstone remained intact and that any claims of vandalism were lies.
"There was no vandalism there and people should stop with these lies on social media," he said.
Police spokeswoman Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said police were called following the shooting incident, where the 34-year-old man was found lying next to the road with a gunshot wound.
Nevhuhulwi said reports said the incident occurred while he was sitting with friends outside a tavern in Soshanguve and although gunshots were heard, no suspects have been arrested in connection with the case.
"The police request anyone who may have information about this incident to contact their police station or report on the CrimeStop line at 08600 10111," she said.
