LEGENDARY gospel musician and record label boss, Sipho "Big Fish" Makhabane, is no longer signing artists.
Makhabane, who owns Big Fish Music discovered and signed many top gospel artists such as Hlengiwe Mhlaba and Thobekile Mkhwanazi, said instead of signing new artists, he will help them.
His company currently only has him signed and is preparing to release his greatest hits album.
Makhabane said he learnt many things when his label was still signing artists and he is now old to bring something that will give him a headache and he wants to focus on something that will keep his good legacy.
"Signing an artist is like bringing a burden to your shoulders because others don't respect the contracts they signed.
"After they have disrespected their contracts, and the label is following what is written on their contracts, it's like the label is abusing the artists," he said.

Makhabane said he doesn't have a problem with any artists including those who were signed under his label, and he regards them as his children.
"What I like about myself is that even though I had a recording label, I didn't stop singing although in 2010 I decided to stop releasing music. But four years later, I realised that I made a mistake, and I was back," he said.
Makhabane said what made him go back to music after he started in 1988 is a madala who asked him to come back as he heals broken hearts.
He told Daily Sun he's preparing to build recording studios called Big Fish Studios in Mpumalanga.
"The studios will be open to all artists for all genres because I want to give the youth a chance to record their songs and manage themselves after that," he said.
