ACTRESS Andrea Dondolo is making a big TV comeback.

Andrea, who played Ayanda on SABC2's Stokvel will star in Inimba, Mzansi Magic's new drama series, which will premiere on 14 April.

The 46-year-old actress from Whittlesea, Eastern Cape, spoke to Daily Sun about her big return and where she's been.

"It's good to be back on the TV screens. It's been too long. I've been home in the Eastern Cape, mostly practising as a sangoma, also fulfilling my spiritual mandate of writing under the banner of Bukhosini Basembo Creatives.

"I currently have five published books - Ancestral Memories, Sukuma's Odyssey, The Seers Gift, I Declare An Offering of Love For Words and Rising from Within. I'm also currently sitting on a dozen half-written stories here and there. I've also initiated a 230km fundraising walk for various moral regeneration programmes, including life coaching and environmental programmes," Andrea said.

The actress said she's excited to be back on screen.

"It feels awesome. I'm truly grateful for the opportunity and will forever be in awe of how I came to be on Inimba through different points of light who were moved to re-ignite the light within me to reprise the role of the healer through the arts and creativity. The universe and my guides who heard my plea to be allowed to be back on screen aligned things for me and made this possible," she said.

Andrea will play the character of Nontobeko "Magaba" Bikitsha on the new show.

"She's a strong, loving mid-60s woman, and to her pride, she doesn't look her age. She's never held down a formal job, and together with her husband Tshangisa, they built a loving home for their children. She holds space for many women and the different challenges they navigate as matriarchs for their families."

She's also a traditional healer, and she had to get permission from her ancestors to be on screen.

"Being both is a dance on bright lights, I must say, lots of negotiations with my guides to allow me and even extend themselves with grace as I navigate the creative space. Lots of mindfulness has to be at play to create balance. As someone who has gone through the healer's journey, I know how to manoeuvre energies and manage situations with sensitivity when an energy shift happens.

"As a healer, wherever you are, the healer within is always present in you, even heal people without being conscious of it until someone says, 'Your presence shifted something for me'. Honestly, as creatives, we are healers through the stories we tell, and this moment for me is just another layer in my healer's journey," Andrea said.
