AMERICAN RnB singer Kenny Lattimore will be getting up close and personal with his local fans and music lovers on Saturday, 26 November, at the Sun Arena in Tshwane.
The singer is no stranger to South African soul lovers as he has been travelling the country since the 80s.
Speaking to Daily Sun, the All My Tomorrow hitmaker said Mzansi was home.
“It’s great to be back. I am excited because the pandemic has kept us away from each other for years. I was happy to be one of the first international RnB artists to do the Sun Arena in 2018,” he said.
He added that he would be performing a lot of songs from his first project.
“I’m going to try and sprinkle in some of my other songs from the album, From the Soul of Man. We will just be going back in time and talking about the albums that made us fall in love with each other,” he said.
He also gave words of motivation to South Africans.
“This is a period in which in the entire world, we need to be kind to one another and more aware that even though we may all have differences and come from different backgrounds, we still all want the same things in life. We want love, joy and the pursuit of happiness,” he said, adding that music unified people.
“It allows barriers to be broken so we can all celebrate each other and our humanity,” he said.
Kenny shared that his goal was to come back and say, “I am still here and want to see everyone”.
“If I could, I would go on to all the cities in the country but that is not how the industry works. I am hoping that after this particular performance, it will put me in a position where I was when I left the last time. When I left I thought great, we will set up new shows and come back but the pandemic hit,” he said.
The star has earned the reputation as one of today’s premier male vocalists and a compelling songwriter, who passionately explores universal themes and truths in a fresh new way.
His music speaks to the hearts of women and minds of men, aiming to invoke deep emotions about love and life.
Kenny will be serenading his fans with topping hits including For You, Never Too Busy, Love Will Find a Way, When I Say I Do and If You Could See You Through My Eyes.
The soul train will be curated and run by Kenny, Thabo “T-Bose” Mokwele, Sentle Lehoko, Sweet Mike, Wilson B Nkosi, DJ Khalo and more! Some surprise performances will also take things to another level.
