MILLIONS of South Africans were waiting to see how media personality and former Miss Soweto Lerato Kganyago would spend her Valentine's Day on 14 February, but it was quiet.
For a couple of years now, she has trended on social media because of the extravagant gifts her husband would get her.
This year, Lerato trended on 13 and 14 February, with people waiting in anticipation to see what gift she'd get this year, but it was dead silent.
A Valentine's Day tradition
Valentine's Day in Mzansi has been dubbed "Lerato Kganyago Day" as her husband, Thami Ndlala, always goes all out for her and spoils her on the day.
In 2021, he booked FNB Stadium for her and booked Zonke to sing while they had dinner.

In 2022, he bought her a boutique hotel and in 2023, he booked American singer Kenny Lattimore to perform for her.
Lerato breaks her silence
She has finally broken her silence and revealed why there was no celebration from her part this year.
The Soweto-born TV and radio presenter revealed to her fans on social media that she was pregnant and miscarried on 12 February 2024.
Lerato (41) said February was a happy month for her until she lost her baby.
She posted a picture of the ultrasound scan which showed that she was about seven weeks pregnant when the miscarriage happened.

"Pardon my silence. This was the most happiest but became a painful part of this Month of Love.
"Thank you to my supportive colleagues, my bosses, my family and my friends. I'm strong and will never give up," she wrote.

The Metro FM presenter said she was hopeful.
"On the 12th is when my incredible gynae broke the news. I'm much better than last week, my parents have been next to me and have carried me! Thank you to those that have been checking on me. I was so hopeful," she said.

Strength in heartbreak
Lerato, however, said she would be okay.
"I'm a phoenix. I will be back," she said.
This is not the first time Lerato has lost a child. She has been vocal about her struggle with having children.
A history of struggle
This loss adds to Lerato's history of miscarriages, including in 2015 and in 2021 when she revealed that she and her co-host at the time, Dineo Ranaka were pregnant at the same time, but she lost her baby.
"I was three or four months pregnant and unfortunately I lost my baby. I was looking forward to this pregnancy because I thought this time around, I had made it through because I had been so hard for a while.
"It's so funny, Dineo and I were pregnant at the same time, and this was when we were still doing the show together and we were so excited and she was a few months ahead of me, but she made it through, but I did not and I know that everything happens for a reason," she said.
The radio host said this was her fourth miscarriage.
In 2022, Lerato accused controversial blogger, Musa Khawula of being the reason she suffered a miscarriage in the previous years.
