LEGENDARY kwaito star Thokozani "L'vovo Derrango" Ndlovu was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Blackchild Foundation on Saturday, 15 July.
L'vovo (42) has released many hit albums since his debut album titled Derrango in 2007. Now he has revealed that he is calling it quits on releasing new music.
He told Daily Sun that being honoured in his hometown is helping him to recover fast from a stroke.
"I feel honoured that I was honoured in my hometown by younger people than me. That means my music has a big impact on people, and I would be happy if top awards like the Metro and SAMA could honour me before I die.
"As I'm recovering from a stroke, I'm also recording my last EP to be released in September, where I will be officially saying goodbye to releasing new music," he said.
The Bayangisukela hitmaker said he has done many things in the music industry and wants to stop releasing songs while his fans and the young generation still love him.

"When I said I have done all in my music career, I mean it. Many people got married playing my music, and some of them have already divorced," he said.
L'vovo was recently booked at Cotton Fest in Durban, but he later withdrew his booking a few days before the event.
"I like ama2k, and I know that they were looking forward to seeing my performance during Cotton Fest, but I was not feeling well. If I was a better person, I would have attended," he added.
He said he would now focus on his company Yebophela Entertainment, to help artists.
The Newcastle businessman and the chairman of Blackchild Foundation, Scelo Ndwandwe, said it was his long-time wish to honour L'vovo because he looks up to him.
"I was always telling that he needed to be honoured for what he has done for our hometown. I'm happy that he finally made time for me," he said.
