WELL-KNOWN motivational speaker Nkululelo Khanyi begs people not to commit suicide.

The 44-year-old Nkululeko, who's also a mental health champion from Pongola in KZN, is the founder of Ungazibulali awareness campaign, which encourages people not to kill themselves.

Nkululelo is bringing Mzansi's top celebs to encourage residents not to commit suicide when they face difficulties and depression. He'll host the Ungazibulali awareness campaign, themed Suicide Is Not the Answer Nor an Option at the Durban ICC on Saturday, 12 October.

Gospel stars Ayanda Ntanzi, Thobekile, Amos Mphahlele, and Hlengiwe Mhlaba will share the stage, bringing back hope.

Actor Muzi Mthabela, who's one of the speakers at the event, will be motivating men to speak up and not kill themselves.

Actor and suicide activist Menzi Nxumalo and psychologist Dalisu Mbatha will also motivate the attendees.

Nkululeko told Daily Sun that they've been running the campaign in different places for the past 12 years.

He said they've realised that KZN is the province with the highest depression and suicide rates due to many different challenges.

"In the world, South Africa is second when it comes to depression and suicides, while KZN is number one in South Africa. People are facing different challenges, but we want to arm them with the knowledge that committing suicide is not the solution. There are other ways to face depression and difficulties," he said.

He hopes that those who attend the campaigns will find a way to deal with depression and that their lives will never be the same.

Nkululeko said since they started their campaign, they've received positive responses from those who attend, but he's still concerned that there are still many suicides in KZN.
