Hey Neighbour is a three-day global music fest set to hit the African soil.

DECEMBER ke monate fela, from one location to another, it's no doubt that every South African always ensure their pockets are fully stacked for any event.

But this time, many Mzansi might just have to break the bank sooner than expected as the country opens its doors to one of the biggest music concerts, with tickets ranging from R3 899 to R4 999.

Hey Neighbour is a three-day global music fest set to hit the African soil on 8 to 10 December in Tshwane.

In May 2023, R&B music sensation H.E.R. was announced as the first of a host of acts for the Hey Neighbour festival line-up. This announcement was then followed by acts including Swedish House Mafia, DJ Khalid, and The Chainsmokers.

But on Tuesday, 27 June things stepped up even more when event organisers Glen21 announced that global hip-hop sensation, 17-time Grammy winner, and a lyrical genius - Kendrick Lamar, would be hitting the stage.

"We had promised you more beats and surprises, and we believe adding this powerhouse artist, known for his thought-provoking lyrics and groundbreaking music, cranks up your anticipation a notch or two," said Glen 21.

But in this state of the economy, Mzansi has had a lot to say about how they are willing to go the extra mile for the tickets.

"I am definitely not going to miss this event. I have been a huge fan of Kendrick Lamar for years, and it's on my bucket list to see him perform live. I definitely cannot afford it, though, so I am applying for a credit card and paying for the tickets with it," Keisha Stuart told Daily Sun.

Keisha is not the only one making a plan. On social media, several other fans expressed how they were willing even to sell their parent's microwave to get those tickets.

Others have even gone out to tell their parents why they need to buy the tickets.

South Africans are yet to find out on the next wave of announcements some of the local artists who will also be gracing the stage.
