VAFA Naraghi has become one of Mzansi's most beloved comedians within a short space of time.

Starting with hilarious clips on social media, he's now hosting sold-out gigs.

Vafa, born and raised in Mahikeng, North West, has enjoyed a fantastic journey in comedy over the past few years.

"I think what sets me apart in the local comedy landscape is my ability to connect and relate to people while bringing about some truths and realities that are sometimes difficult to deal with in a nice, comedic fashion," Vafa said.

He said his most memorable moments on stage have been when he performed alongside some of the people he looked up to for years.

"I look back fondly at the Laugh Africa Comedy Festival where I performed with a lot of South Africa's greatest comedians as well as shared stages over the past few years with the likes of Mpho Popps, Celeste Ntuli, and David Kau at his incredible Blacks Only festival," he said.

Earlier this year, Vafa was one of the big winners at the Savanna Comics' Choice Comedy Awards, bagging the Breakthrough Act of the Year Award and Sauce of the Year Award.

"These awards mean so much. It means the work that I have been doing and the things that I have been seeing are finally noticed by both my colleagues as well as the public. It's such a good feeling to be embraced as part of the industry."

Vafa loves doing comedy because he relates to people and appreciates the support from fellow comedians.

"It's incredibly fulfilling and gives me a great sense of community. I feel like I am part of a collective. So, it's definitely more uniting than anything else. Honestly, it's the ability to connect and make people laugh, make their lives a little bit better every day. To do that is so fulfilling," the funnyman said.
