Her message is clear: faith comes first.

RAPPER and media personality Moozlie proudly calls herself the "big sister of the industry".

A hush falls over the crowd as she prays and speaks about God when she steps on stage.

Her deep faith is at the core of both her personal life and career, guiding all aspects of her journey.

Her message is clear: faith comes first.

Moozlie, whose real name is Nomuzi Mabena, has excelled as an MC at prestigious events such as the Tuks Rag Queen crowning, Africa's largest hip-hop dance competition, Masters of Rhythm, Mr and Miss Benoni, as well as the MTV Base Live Urban Smooth Sessions with Klipdrift.

Beyond hosting accolades, she's collaborated musically with renowned artists such as DJ Speedsta and Rouge.

Speaking to Daily Sun, the 32-year-old Moozlie said many people don't fully understand the power and significance of being made in the image of God.

"I often refer to the actual thing because I'm just an image of the actual thing," she said.

As a black woman navigating life in South Africa and the entertainment industry, Moozlie said she constantly relies on spiritual grounding.

"I'm in the entertainment industry, I'm a black woman and a human being, a lot going on."

Moozlie said that people often forget they were created by a higher power.

"When a fridge is broken, you take it back to where you bought it. When your iPhone is broken, you can try to fix it at the China stores but when you trade it in, they'll say this is a fake screen. For me, I always go back to my maker, in good and bad times."

For Moozlie, acknowledging God reflects her roots and values.

"A lot of people don't realise that the Bible is the how-to-live-your-life manual. It sounds different and weird, but it has been a manual on how to live my life.

"Sometimes I don't always get the answers that I want, but I get the answers that I need. That sustained and prolonged my life."
