HE never thought he'd be one of the biggest stars who are recognised globally.
But all his hard work and passion has earned him a nomination at the 2024 BET Hip-hop awards.
Rapper and singer Sihle Sithole, popularly known as Blxckie, said his happy to be recognised as a South African hip-hop artist.
"The whole mission this year was to solidify my brand outside South Africa so, this shows that we've been doing the right thing," he said.
The 24-year-old multi-talented star from Durban is known for his hit songs such as Big Time Sh'lappa and Sneaky.
He told Daily Sun that he has been in the music industry for four years but has done well for himself.
"Besides the awards I got, my highlight is meeting people all over the world and different fans," he said.
Blxckie said that he only started thinking about music after high school.

"I was focused on academic studies and trying to better my knowledge. After high school I then started with the music journey because that is when you have free will."
He said that hip-hop is more than a genre to him.
"It means being able to express myself in many different ways and having a community. The hip-hop community is super dope. They understand the things that I speak on and they are loyal too."
The rapper said the genre is an outlet for the youth.
"Obviously different people listen to it and enjoy it. But I feel like right now there are a lot of kids doing hip-hop."
He said that he's grateful for the support his fans give him.
"I really appreciate them for sticking with me."
