
THE CEO of Universal Music Group, SA and Sub-Saharan Africa, Sipho Dlamini, has resigned.
He resigned on Wednesday, 15 March, with immediate effect.
At this stage, it is not clear why he resigned.
The Chief Operating Officer, Manusha Sarawan from Universal Music Group, confirmed the news to Daily Sun.
"Our CEO in South Africa resigned from his position with immediate effect. An announcement regarding the appointment of a successor will be made in due course," Sarawan said.
She referred all other questions to her colleague, Tommy Williams.
Tommy had not responded to Daily Sun's questions at the time of publishing.
Sipho is the former CEO of the South African Music Rights Organisation from 2013 to 2016.
In 2016 he joined UMG as the Managing Director.
In 2022 he was promoted to his new position as the CEO.

At that time, he said: "There has never been a more exciting time for African music around the world, as it continues to influence and inspire culture and creativity, whilst reaching a wider audience globally each day through streaming."
Daily Sun reached out to Sipho, but he failed to answer his phone.
He also did not respond to text messages.
