SOBER Fest, the popular lifestyle and wellness event that celebrates life without alcohol, has been moved to a later date in 2026. Organisers confirmed the news this week, saying the event will no longer happen over the Freedom Day weekend.
The festival, started by Nomsa Mazwai, was supposed to take place on Sunday, 26 April 2026, at the Soweto Theatre from 10:00 to 18:00. Even though the date has changed, fans who already bought tickets from Webtickets don't need to worry. All tickets will still be valid for the new date.

The event is all about "a New Freedom" and is safe for the whole family. It was set to have big stars like Thandiswa Mazwai, Nomisupasta, and Maleh on stage. DJ Kenzhero and Vester Sdizo were going to handle the decks, with Ntsiki Mazwai as the host.
Nomsa Mazwai thanked the community for their love and support. She said the decision to postpone was made to make sure the festival is the best it can be.
"We have felt immense love, excitement, and support from the Sober Fest community, and we are deeply grateful," she said. "To honour that energy and deliver the experience you truly deserve, we've made the decision to postpone Sober Fest to a later date this year."
She added that the extra time will help them create an even better experience for everyone who wants to socialise without using substances.
"This gives us the space to come back with something more powerful an even more intentional and elevated offering," Mazwai said.
Fans are told to keep an eye on Sober Fest's social media pages for the new date and the full programme, which will be announced in the next few weeks.
