Ayanda said he's giving Khuzwayo 10 days to pay him, and after that, he will take further action.

FORMER Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo is accused of not paying a photographer.

Durban-based photographer Ayanda Mzondi of Ayanda Shots said he was hired by Khuzwayo to take photos, do graphics, and load pictures on Khuzwayo's social media page during his soccer tournament.

Khuzwayo's tournament, called Brilliant Cup U19 2024, was held at Wema Stadium and Glebe Stadium in Umlazi, south of Durban, from 27 to 28 July.

Ayanda told Daily Sun that because the games were played in two separate venues, he had to hire two more people to help him. He said Khuzwayo promised to pay him on Friday, 2 August, but he didn't, and he keeps telling him stories.

"Now 11 days have passed since I rendered my services, but still no payment, and the other two guys who helped me are on my neck demanding their payment. When I call Khuzwayo, he keeps saying he's still waiting for the provincial government to pay him, then he'll pay me," he said.

He said what angers him more is that he knows that Khuzwayo allegedly has money to pay him, but he's making unnecessary excuses.

"His tournament was well sponsored with many sponsors. He didn't pay for trophies, medals, soccer jerseys, stadiums; all of that was paid by sponsors, and his sponsors included KZN Sport, Art and Culture, eThekwini Municipality, MTN, and many more. Forty soccer clubs participated in the tournament, and all of them joined with R1 000 fee, which gave him R40 000. There's no way that he can't pay me for my services," he said.

Another photographer, Lusanda Ndlovu, who helped Ayanda to render services during Khuzwayo's tournament, confirmed that they worked for Khuzwayo and still haven't been paid.

"We worked and delivered the work on time under Ayanda Shots, but when it comes to getting our payment, Khuzwayo is telling us stories. All we want is our money," he said.

Daily Sun contacted Khuzwayo, but both his cellphones were answered by the same woman who kept saying it was the wrong number.

The cellphone numbers were verified with Ayanda Shots and other sports journalists, and it was confirmed that the numbers belong to him.
