AWARD-WINNING artist Makhadzi is back with a new project.
The artist, known for her electrifying performances and authentic African beats, has released her highly anticipated second studio album, Miracle Child, on Friday, 4 October.
The multi-talented musician, whose real name is Ndivhudzanni Ralivhona, revealed that her album cover was inspired by none other than pop icon, Rihanna.
The album launch, held at Tempo restaurant in Rivonia, Sandton, on Thursday, 3 October, was preceded by a listening session.
The event was graced by several notable media personalities, including Master KG, Nkosazana Daughter, Yolanda Mukondi, and Clement Maosa, among others.
The 28-year-old artist from Limpopo released her album under her label, Makhadzi Entertainment.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Makhadzi opened up about the inspiration behind the album.
"I was scrolling online and saw something about Rihanna. Even though I'm not a huge R&B fan, I loved the album cover. When I read it, I thought to myself, 'I've been going through so much, and didn't know how to express it'. Even though the album cover was inspired by Rihanna, the words and music are uniquely Makhadzi. The album reflects my experiences, my pain, and my celebrations," she said.

Makhadzi reflected with pride on the success of her previous album and the journey to the new release.
"I feel like the queen I believe I am. My first album reached platinum status within a year, and now, nine months later, I'm releasing another. Some of the songs have already reached Gold, and one even hit double-platinum before the album dropped. It's a testament to my resilience. I truly am a 'miracle child'," she said.
The album cover features several powerful words, including 'SARS', 'Miscarriage', 'BET', 'One Woman Show', 'Polygamy' and 'Arts and Culture', each representing the challenges she's faced.
"There were times when I wasn't sure if I would be able to continue making music, but God gave me strength to keep going and faced every obstacle. Today, I feel like a newborn baby, reborn and free from the weight of my past. That's why I named this album Miracle Child. God has been by my side every step of the way," Makhadzi said.
Makhadzi invited her fans to her upcoming One Woman Show at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on 21 December.
"I'm hosting the One Woman Show at Peter Mokaba Stadium this December and want everyone to come dance with me. This is not only for the people of Limpopo, but also for all South Africans, as artists from all over the country will be performing," she said.
