Minister of 'Happiness' McKenzie: Everyone gets a ticket!

SPORTS, Arts, and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie is spreading holiday fever.

He's giving away 1 000 free tickets for two events, the Chris Brown concert and Makhadzi's One Woman Show.

McKenzie has allocated 500 tickets for the international superstar Chris Brown's concert, scheduled for Saturday, 14 December, to Sunday, 15 December.

The remaining 500 tickets are reserved for Mzansi's beloved Venda queen, Makhadzi, whose show is on Saturday, 21 December.

Taking to social media on Thursday night, 12 December, the minister shared a video announcing the generous giveaway.

"I'm not just the minister of sports, arts, and culture. I'm the minister of happiness. Happiness index, starting tomorrow morning (Friday), we'll begin with Chris Brown. We are giving away 500 tickets. Some will go to children in orphanages and others to those in need because I am the minister of happiness," he said.

McKenzie declared the festive season officially open in his lighthearted post.

"With the powers invested in me by the President, December is officially open. If you're lucky, you'll get a ticket for yourself and your partner because giving just one might lead to divorce!" said the minister.

His social media platforms have been buzzing with updates on how followers can secure these coveted tickets.

"Happiness starts at 11am. We're making 1 000 people happy. Monday is Makhadzi Monday. We'll spread joy to just as many people," McKenzie wrote.

This is not the first time McKenzie has shown his support for the multi-award-winning Makhadzi.

In October, he bought 200 tickets for her One Woman Show, boosting the singer's morale ahead of the event.

This gesture came after Makhadzi, real name Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, shared her frustrations on social media platform X, calling out South African audiences for not buying tickets to her show.

Meanwhile, Chris Brown, who arrived in Mzansi on Wednesday, 11 December, has been gearing up for his concert.

The globally acclaimed singer has been sharing photos on Instagram, including photos taken at FNB Stadium, where his highly anticipated performance will take place.
