MZANSI comedian Trevor Noah is leaving the American satirical news show, The Daily Show, on Comedy Central after seven years, saying his time is up.
The 38-year-old comedian, who is now known by a global audience, took over from American comedian Jon Stewart in 2015.
On his Twitter, Trevor thanked the audience, saying it's been amazing.
"It's been absolutely amazing. It's something that I never expected," said Trevor.

Looking back on what the show has been through, he mentioned the pandemic and the Donald Trump presidency.
"I found myself thinking throughout the time of everything we've gone through - The Trump presidency, the pandemic, just the journey, more pandemic - and I realised that after seven years, my time is up," he said.
He thanked the audience, saying he never dreamt of being where he was.
He revealed that he got the job unexpectedly.
"I came here for a tour of what the previous show was and then the next thing I was handed the keys," said Trevor, adding that the show was one of his greatest challenges and joys.
