Zozi remembers late Miss USA

IT’S been a year since Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst jumped from a 30-floor building and took her life.

Former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi took to social media to remember the beauty queen.

She posted a video of the first time they moved in together. At the time, Zozi stayed with her in the same apartment during their reigns as Miss Universe and Miss USA.

Zozi said it’s been exactly a year since Cheslie died.

Zozi said she’ll continue to educate people about mental health because that’s what Cheslie struggled with.

“That one time I arrived and we were matching because synergy baby! I can’t believe today marks a year since we lost you. Just like you wanted, we will always take a moment to remind people to seek help and take care of their mental health always. Hope you’re resting easy Queen. We love you forever and always my friend,” she wrote.

In May last year, Cheslie’s mum, April Simpkins spoke about Cheslie’s death in an interview on Red Table Talk with Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith and Adrienne Banfield-Norris.

She said Cheslie sent her a message before taking a life and she quickly went to catch a flight to be with her.

She said that attempt wasn’t her first one. She had tried to commit suicide before. However, she didn’t know it was severe.
