PRINCIPAL Salome wears school uniform to support matric pupils during final exams.
She's not a pupil but the principal of Bokamoso High School in Stinkwater, Tshwane. Salome Madumo has been wearing the girls' uniform for almost a month.
Salome said that in every final exam of grade 12s, she wears a uniform from the beginning of exams until the last day.
She has been the principal of the school for the past 10 years and said she's grateful for the support she receives from the parents and community.
"This is a way of saying to the grade 12s that I'm walking and supporting you. I wear it until the last examination," she said.
Salome also said that she jumps and wrestles with pupils, telling them to just kill the exams.
"I'm showing them the importance of wearing a uniform. I'm not ashamed to wear a uniform. I've been wearing it for the past five years," she said.
The principal said that the pupils love it, and they scream with joy whenever she wears it.
"We celebrate together and the uniform fits me well," she said.

Salome also said that being in a uniform is really great and she wears it with pride. She also wore the uniform on 16 June and during career day with some teachers. On career day, pupils wear dresses and high heels, and boys put on suits to act as educators.
She described the journey of the four-week examination writing as hard but fulfilling. The principal said that during exams, pupils have been sleeping and eating at school.
"We spoil them, and most importantly, I have outlined my vision with the parents who are supportive," she said.
Salome said that parents contribute money every year in preparation for matrics. She said that teachers donate and also cook for the pupils.
She added that the school pass rate in 2024 was 98,2%, and they're aiming for 100% this year.
"Our pupils at school study hard and motivate each other. We want to take them away from the streets during exams. I always tell them about the importance of humility, and we pray a lot," said Salome.
Tshwane Human Settlements MMC Aaron Maluleka has committed to donating three laptops to the top-performing pupils once their matric results are released.
He also pledged R20 000 to teachers in recognition of their hard work and selfless dedication in conducting revision and study camps throughout the examination period.
