The former Free State and ANC secretary-general said the party has grown against all odds since it was launched two years ago, and that critics who doubted them are now seeing ACT’s rise across the provinces.

"ACT is here to stay, ACT is here to lead, and ACT is here to transform South Africa!"

These were the words of African Congress for Transformation (ACT) president-general, Dr Ace Magashule, as he addressed hundreds of supporters at the party's second anniversary at the Harry Gwala Multipurpose Centre in Sasolburg, Free State over the weekend.

The former Free State and ANC secretary-general said the party has grown against all odds since it was launched two years ago, and that critics who doubted them are now seeing ACT's rise across the provinces.

"Two years ago, when we launched ACT, many doubted us. They thought we were just another political formation. They said we wouldn't survive. But today, as we stand united, rooted in our communities, we declare boldly, ACT is here to stay," said Magashule.

He also touched on the current state of South Africa.

"Our people are hungry. Our youth are unemployed, hopeless, and some have lost their lives because of frustration. Our elderly suffer without dignity. Our municipalities are collapsing under corruption and maladministration," said Magashule.

He lashed out at the current Government of National Unity (GNU), calling it a marriage of convenience between those who betrayed the liberation struggle and those who once oppressed our people.

He told the people of Zamdela that ACT was created to give back power to ordinary South Africans.

"We did not form ACT to chase positions. We did not form ACT to enrich a few. We formed ACT to give power back to the people, the workers, the unemployed, the poor, the students, the women, and the youth."

Magashule said the party's vision is about real transformation.

"Restoring land and wealth to the majority, building industries that create jobs here in Sasolburg and across the country, making sure every child is safe in school and every graduate has a future."

He also paid tribute to struggle heroes, urging members to draw inspiration from them.

"Let us draw courage from Harry Gwala, who never sold out. Let us draw courage from Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, who never bowed to pressure. Let us draw courage from Chris Hani, who gave his life for justice. And let us remember that the struggle is not over."
