CAR jammers bust.

Cape Town police have arrested four suspects who were found with a car signal jammer and stolen items.

According to Western Cape police spokesman, Captain Frederick van Wyk, officers arrested the four men on Monday, 15 September after spotting a vehicle linked to theft cases.

"Members of the Flying Squad were patrolling on the N2 Macassar side when they noticed a silver Hyundai fitting the description of a vehicle that was involved in theft out of motor vehicle cases," said Van Wyk.

The vehicle, which had false number plates, was pulled over and searched.

"Inside the vehicle, the members found a black bag containing an Apple laptop, Apple tablet, power bank, passport of a white man, car keys of different vehicles, remotes that can be used to jam signals, tablet holder, reflector jacket, a screwdriver and an external memory card reader with memory sticks," said Van Wyk.

The four suspects, aged between 21 and 32, were arrested for possession of presumed stolen property and fraud. They were detained at Macassar SAPS and are expected to appear in the Strand Magistrates Court once formally charged.

In a separate operation, members of the Maitland Flying Squad and the Cape Town K9 Unit arrested a 31-year-old man in Brown's Farm on Friday night, 12 September. Van Wyk said the arrest followed information about a wanted suspect and firearms.

A search of the house uncovered two AK-47 rifles with ammunition, a signal jammer, and a.38 special revolver.
