CONSTABLE Akhile Prince Mkhundlu (28) has been found alive and safe.
According to the cop's mum Nomaphondo Mkhundlu (62), her son was found in Durbanville on Sunday night after he went missing on Sunday, 27 August.
"We are happy that he was found alive. Police are still investigating so that they find his car. We are just happy that he is alive. We were worried," she said.
The family could not disclose further details as investigations are still ongoing.
Police in Cape Town have confirmed in a statement that the missing police officer has been found.
"A man previously reported as missing has been reunited with his family after he was located, safe and unharmed," the statement read.

Nomaphondo said her son had left the door of his flat unlocked and left in his VW Polo the evening he disappeared.
No one heard of his whereabouts the whole week.
Nomaphondo said it was unusual for his son not to lock his door when he leaves home.
She said he was on sick leave that week and he was meant to start work on Monday, 28 August, and that is when they realised that he had not returned home the previous night when he did not report for duty.
Nomaphondo told Daily Sun that she immediately reported him missing at the Gugulethu cop shop and the officers promised to look for him.
