GOGOS thanked God for reaching a significant milestone in their lives.
Gogo Anna Rambau and gogo Salamina Baloyi from Stinkwater in Tshwane both turned 100 yeras old, and their birthdays were celebrated accordingly at Loratong Primary School on Saturday, 30 November 2024.
The event, attended by other elders, was a testament to their 10 decades of life. Despite challenges like hearing and sight loss, they continue to persevere.
Speaking as one, the duo credited their longevity to respect.
Gogo Salamina said: "Be humble and kind in life, show respect, and your days will be multiplied."
Her daughter, Elsie Matea, noted that her mum has been a devoted churchgoer, avoiding street life and eating her favourite vegetables.

Gogo Anna said: "I don't take sugar. I eat lots of vegetables and mopani worms as my meat."
Anna's daughter, Martha Moema, expressed gratitude: "I thank the Lord for keeping my mum safe till this age. It's a blessing."
The celebration organiser, Nkele Ntimbane, emphasised the importance of embracing the elderly.
"We need to celebrate and respect our veterans while they're still alive. I invited grannies, starting from 70 years, to honour them," Anna said.
Among attendees was gogo Maria Mahlaola (99), counting down to her 100th birthday next year.
Ward 13 Councillor, Sonia Mabolawa, expressed admiration for the celebration.
"Biblically, we're given 70 years, and anything thereafter is a bonus. I want to reach 100 too," she said.
