AFRICAN Congress for Transformation (ACT) leader, Ace Magashule said he's not shaken by a Constitutional Court ruling that rejected his party from participating in the upcoming national elections.
The Constitutional Court dismissed ACT's application on Friday, 10 May, along with two other political parties who were attempting to get the Electoral Commission of South Africa to postpone the elections to allow them to resubmit their candidates list.
Responding to the judgment, Magashule said the Constitutional Court has only barred him from contesting in all nine provinces, but gave him an opportunity to focus on five: the Free State, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, North West and Gauteng.

"We've lost a case. There was no way we would go to court if there was no IEC technical problem. There was no way to collect 120 000 signatures while the IEC needed 46 000. There was no way we could put all the signature into the system. To show that we were genuine in what we were doing, we didn't collect enough signatures in Limpopo and Mpumalanga, so we couldn't just approach the court," he said.
He said as a new party, they're happy and believe they still have what it takes to rule the country.

Magashule said he'll be in Parliament with big numbers after the polls and believes his party is growing.
"We'll govern in many municipalities after the 2026 municipal elections. We have enough time to prepare. We're working hard to be in power and correct wrongdoing," he said.
