TWO friends, a sangoma, and a prophet went to Crocodile River in Dullstroom, Mpumalanga, to perform a ritual.
During the process, tragedy struck as the sangoma drowned.
The incident happened on Thursday, 10 April.
The police diving unit began a search, and the sangoma's body was found on Sunday, 13 April.
Cops received a call about a possible drowning in Crocodile River and rushed to the scene together with the police diving unit.

Provincial police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane said the body of a sangoma was found on Sunday after disappearing in the water on Thursday.
"We are told that two men, a sangoma and a traditional healer, were at this river praying and performing rituals. According to the prophet, when they were performing the ritual, his friend just disappeared into the water," he said.
The prophet claimed that he repeatedly called out his friend's name but received no response.
He then gathered their belongings and proceeded to the traditional healer's home to report what had just happened at the river.
He also accompanied the traditional healer's wife to the cop shop to report the incident.
The emergency services certified the sangoma dead at the scene.
