THREE nurses suspended.
The nurses from Hewu Hospital in Whittlesea, Eastern Cape were suspended after a video of an assault victim was posted on social media over the weekend.
The female victim was found naked and dumped in a veld at eKuphumleni location in Whittlesea on Saturday, 14 June and taken to Hewu Hospital where she died.
However, nurses at the hospital allegedly took a video of the woman gasping and posted it on social media.
The video angered the community, which took matters into their own hands by shutting down the hospital demanding the removal of the nurses.
Residents marched to the hospital on Tuesday, 17 June demanding justice for the woman.
According to one of the residents, Lolly Matoti, the woman wasn't attended to and would still be alive if she was.
"Instead, the nurses took a video of her naked and shared it on social media. All this was done by one of the nurses. She was naked and had nothing to cover her," said Lolly.

He said they're happy the nurses were suspended and that all they want is for every patient to be treated with care and dignity.
"We won't tolerate this behaviour in our hospital. We want our people to be taken care of," he said.
Lolly called on the law enforcement to do a proper investigation and arrest those who were involved in the alleged rape and murder of the woman.
Provincial health department spokesman Siyanda Manana confirmed the nurses' suspension.
"An investigation is going to be initiated. The department respects the rights of all patients," he said.
Police spokeswoman Captain Namhla Mdleleni said the cops were summoned to a scene at eKuphumleni where they found a naked 68-year-old woman with bruises on her body.
"She was taken to hospital and died upon arrival. A case of murder was opened, but no arrests have been made yet," said Mdleleni.
