THREE thugs were in the process of robbing a butchery in Kayamandi, Western Cape.
However, their luck ran out after cops cornered them.
The incident happened on Thursday afternoon, 27 February, in Stellenbosch.
A witness who spoke to the Daily Sun reported that the armed men not only robbed the butchery but also targeted its clients.
Two men were inside demanding money from the employees, while another stood at the entrance, collecting phones and money from patrons as they left.
"He would take money and phones from the customers who were leaving the shop during the robbery. Luckily, cops arrived, and none of the thugs managed to escape. I heard gunshots when the cops arrived, and an ambulance later arrived at the scene," said the witness, who lives near the butchery.

Western Cape police spokesman Sergeant Wesley Twigg said when the robbers realised they were cornered, they threatened to shoot the officers.
However, the cops swiftly managed the threat.
"Stellenbosch police responded to a complaint of an armed robbery in progress at a meat market in Bridge Road, Kayamandi, on Thursday, 27 February, where three armed suspects were busy robbing the store. Police members entered the store, where the suspects tried to evade arrest. One suspect pointed police members with a firearm and was subsequently wounded and arrested.
"Two other suspects were also arrested on the premises. Three 9mm pistols with ammunition were recovered on the scene. The wounded suspect is under police guard at a medical facility. The adult male suspects face charges of armed robbery, attempted murder and the possession of an unlicenced firearms and ammunition," said Twigg.
He added that the three suspects will appear in the Stellenbosch Magistrates Court once charged.
