FAMILY of murdered e-hailing driver appeals for donations to repatriate his body to Nigeria.

And to achieve this, the family needs to raise R70 000.

Isaac Satlat, a 22-year-old Nigerian national and e-hailing driver, was killed in Pretoria West by passengers, a man and woman who had requested his service.

A dashcam video showed him being strangled from behind.

His body and hijacked vehicle were later discovered in Atteridgeville.

Isaac was a student scheduled to graduate in March 2026 and was planning to relocate to Canada to further his studies.

Family spokesman, Solomon Ashoms said they don't want to regard this as xenophobic attack, but simply as a crime.

Solomon said the family is grateful that 90% of South Africans have been calling to donate so Isaac's body could be repatriated.

Gauteng police have since arrested a female suspect in connection with the murder, with further arrests anticipated.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Atteridgeville Magistrates Court on Monday, 16 February on charges of murder and car hijacking.

The brutal murder has sparked outrage, with authorities condemning the incident and urging the public not to circulate the graphic video of the attack.

Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed the arrest and warned that the net is closing in on the rest of the gang.

"More arrests are imminent as police investigations continue," said Masondo.
