KZN woman bags R107 million Powerball prize.

ITHUBA, the National Lottery operator, has finally found the winner of the R107 million Powerball jackpot.

The lucky woman from KZN, who wishes to remain anonymous, bought her winning ticket via the FNB banking app.

She discovered her fortune while relaxing at home with her partner and kids on a laid-back Saturday.

"When I checked the numbers, I instantly recognised that the first three matched mine, and then I realised that all the winning numbers matched mine. However, I was so anxious that I started to think the numbers might be from a different draw," she said.

Her partner advised caution, suggesting they wait for confirmation from ITHUBA.

"I wanted to be sure because I couldn't believe I had found the winning formula. I've always used the same numbers, which are birthdays and ages of people. However, four months ago, I decided to narrow my focus and play only Powerball, but I never believed I could ever win a prize this big," she said.

Her top priority with her newfound wealth is to provide her kids with quality education and donate some to charity.

"I never received tertiary education. It was never an option in my family as my parents couldn't afford it. It's a privilege I want to offer my kids. There's also much of the world I haven't seen, so travelling is also on my list," she said.

Meanwhile, ITHUBA CEO Charmaine Mabuza congratulated the delighted winner.

"We're pleased that the winner has successfully claimed her winnings, which will be paid to her tax-free within 72 working hours," said Mabuza.
