MANKWENG residents flood Polokwane Municipality fire station offices on Friday, 15 November, to seek help.
This as Eskom's deadline for residents to transition from metre boxes, with Key revision Number 1 (KRN1) programme to Key Revision Number 2 (KRN2) looms.
The date. 24 November 2024 has been set as the deadline for all Eskom customers to have migrated to keep the lights on.
The programme was introduced in August 2024 to ensure the meters' key change code doesn't expire.
Resident Albert Moreroa from Gakama, outside Mankweng, said he arrived at Eskom's offices at about 4am.
"I have a problem with my electricity. I bought R100 electricity, but my meter box rejects it every time I attempt to load. It's been five days without electricity. I believe today I will get help," Albert said.

Another resident, Mapula Maria Ramaphoko from Makekeng, said her mum who is diabetic has been severely affected as her medicine needs to be refrigerated.
"We spent four days without electricity at home. I went to the head offices in Polokwane and we were promised that a technician would come but no one showe up. I still I couldn't get help. A day without electricity is detrimental to my mum's health. She's diabetic and her injections need to be refrigerated. Today, we must get help. We can't continue living in the dark," Mapula said.
Maria Rabothata from Makeketela showed Daily Sun her electricity receipt which indicated that she's successfully updated her meter box.
"I just bought a R10 electricity voucher. As you can see, it shows that my meter is now updated to KRN 2. I'm not happy. We've been going up and down the whole month without getting any help," Maria said.
Matsidiso Phaladi, spokeswoman for Eskom in Limpopo, said all customers will get help.
"Limpopo Eskom officials are today here, and they'll continue helping customers until Tuesday, 19 November. We'll ensure all problems brought before us are resolved. Customers should also bring their ID copies, residential address proof and meter numbers. This will clear backlog before our 24 November 2024 deadline," Phaladi said.
