PARENTS and guardians who have relocated to Limpopo or moved to a different district have been urged to secure space for their children.
This is as the Limpopo Department of Education is ahead of the reopening of schools on Wednesday, 17 January.
Limpopo Education MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya said late appeals with regret letters would be dealt with when schools reopen.
Lerule-Ramakhanya has also said all schools received their stationery before the end of 2023 and that the nutrition programme is expected to resume on the first day of schooling for all the qualifying schools.
"We have welcomed back teachers and the administration staff ahead of the opening on Wednesday. Teachers in over 3 700 schools in the province returned to work on Monday, 15 January, after a long festive break," she said.
She said the teachers and staff members are preparing for the return of pupils and inducting the new pupils at the reception phase and those going to grade 8. The MEC said the preparations will ensure that learning and teaching start on the first day of the school calendar.

"We want the teachers to hit the ground running on Wednesday when pupils return to school. We want them to maximize time in class and not worry about administration when they are supposed to be teaching," she said.
Lerule-Ramakhanya said that teachers are the front liners.
"So, we will afford them the necessary support to ensure that there is improvement across all grades," she said.
Parent Charles Modiba (39) said he hopes to find a new school for his 11-year-old boy.
"I just moved back home from Gauteng, so I hope that I find a proper school and that my child goes to school on Wednesday. I will feel bad if I fail because my son will be disappointed," he said.
