FLOODING causes chaos at hospital.

In a video doing the rounds on social media, rainwater can be seen flowing in a ward at Moses Kotane Hospital in the North West. The water flows from a sliding door through the ward and a woman and man can be heard saying the water is going through the ward. They also raise concern about patients' well-being.

North West Health spokeswoman Boitshoko Moremi said the hospital experienced flooding in the maternity section on Saturday, 4 January due to heavy rainfall that overwhelmed the facility's drainage system.

Moremi said the flooding occurred when water entered through the sliding door and blocked a drain, creating a temporary disruption in the area.

"We're pleased to report that the situation has been promptly addressed. The hospital's dedicated cleaning team acted swiftly to drain the water, ensuring the environment was restored to its normal condition.

"Importantly, no patients were affected during this incident and all maternity services continued without interruption. No damages are experienced, and the maternity section is operating normally," said Moremi.
