SECURITY hotshot gets shock arrest after failed G20 stunt at Nasrec.

A self-proclaimed security hotshot got the shock of his life when he was arrested for trespassing at Nasrec.

This happened after a daring stunt meant to prove that Mzansi isn't ready to host the G20 Leaders' Summit later this month.

The operations director at Gauntlet Security Solutions allegedly snuck into the venue on Monday, 3 November, but instead of exposing security flaws, he walked straight into handcuffs.

Government Communications and Information Systems spokesman William Baloyi said the security man's stunt backfired badly.

"His stunt at Nasrec was an attempt at proving his false claim that South Africa's security isn't ready to secure the forthcoming G20 Leaders' Summit," he said.

"His arrest is a clear demonstration that law enforcement agencies are more than ready to ensure the security of all delegates."

Baloyi added that since South Africa took over the G20 Presidency, the country has already hosted more than 130 G20 preparatory meetings, including ministerial gatherings and Central Bank Governors, without a single incident.

Meanwhile, this afternoon Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi is expected to give an update on the province's readiness to host the G20 summit.
