MANY people are now turning to dating apps for hookups and fun purposes.
A 23-year-old man from Soweto, who was looking for love, gave a popular dating app a try, hoping to find his soul mate.
However, things didn't end well for him as he met someone on the app that left him traumatised.
Tsietsi Cetele was beaten, assaulted and robbed of his cellphone in an attempt to go on a date with a man he met on it.
Tsietsi from Emdeni told Daily Sun he was lured through the dating app and agreed to meet the man at the Shell garage in Jabulani.
"On 20 July I got mugged. It was around half past 9 in the morning and the guy asked that we use another route and when I was walking towards the route, I heard two people pointing guns at me," he said.
Tsietsi said the robbers then dragged him to the bush, and when he got there two more people were waiting for him.
