Sangoma Amos 'Mahambayedwa' Molotja is now asking for forgiveness.

A SANGOMA from Ga-Rankuwa in Tshwane is regretting his evil deeds.

Sangoma Amos "Mahambayedwa" Molotja (45) said his ancestors are angry after he used them to con people.

Mahambayedwa is now asking for forgiveness from everyone he has defrauded and wronged in life.

He said he has had to pay for his evil deeds the hard way as he was sentenced to six years in prison at Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Service in 2017, although he only spent two years and seven months in prison.

The sangoma who graduated in 2012 said he did most of his evil deeds in 2017 and was even called "Moss" because of his charming lifestyle and beautiful clothes.

"I was a bad guy. I used to sell my RDP house to different people, and they will pay me deposits and not get the house. I conned people of almost R500 000 and I'm sorry about that," he said.

Mahambayedwa said he is even prepared to pay back the money to all those he defrauded.

"I know this is a hard thing to do, but I had to do it to make a living. I don't have money or work as I'm surviving through selling recycling ekasi," he said.

Mahambayedwa said he is appealing to all the people whom he defrauded to forgive him.

He said he was selling his house while his wife was not aware even though they are married in community of property.

"I was using the money to buy booze and furniture," said Mahambayedwa.

The sangoma was released from prison on 24 June 2020 and he said he came out a changed man.

"In the process, I lost my RDP house and now my ancestors are angry as they want me to perform rituals in the yard I introduced them to," he said.

Amos said his ancestors always warned him about his evil deeds.

He said in 2017, he sold the RDP house in extension 24 in Ga-Rankuwa for R100 000 and the person only paid R50 000 deposit.

He said he is pleading with the owner to let him buy back the house again as his ancestors are not happy and want him to go back to the house.

His wife Penny Molotja (35) said: "We want our house back because we are suffering. My husband has now changed from his evil deeds to a good person,"

The person who allegedly bought Amos' house could not be reached for comment after countless efforts to do so.
