RESIDENTS of Jukulyn in Soshanguve, Tshwane, woke up to a grim discovery in the early hours of Thursday morning, 7 March.
A passerby on the way to work came across the body of a woman in a veld next to the Block Y Cemetery.
Resident, Lizzy Nkuna told Daily Sun the woman was found in a compromised state. She said her shoes were next to her and her clothes appeared to have been removed.
"Her T-shirt was above her chest, with her breast showing and her trousers slightly off her waist and her underwear showing. It's frightening to live in a place like Jukulyn. It gets worse day by day. 24-hour police visibility is needed in our area," said Lizzy.

Ward 88 Councillor, Tshepang Boikanyo expressed his heartfelt condolences to the woman's family and loved ones. He said the City of Tshwane's incompetence in maintaining streetlights and trimming the grass contribute to the high crime levels in the community.
"I've been reporting to the City of Tshwane to cut the grass at the cemetery and repair the high masts near where the incident occurred. This could have reduced the likelihood of what had happened," he said.
Gauteng police spokesman, Liuetenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed the incident.
"The police have opened an inquest docket to investigate after residents notified the police about a woman sleeping in an open veld. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene," said Masondo.
He said the cause of death is unknown and the victim has not yet been identified.
