Watching YouTube videos has paid off for Chloe Carrion, whose hours of watching videos helped her deliver her aunt’s baby.
According to NBC4, Chloe Carrion was at home with her aunt Dominique Spann (21), on Tuesday afternoon when she started complaining that she didn't feel well at their Fairfax County in the US.
Dominique then went into the bathroom and started screaming for her niece as she realised she was going into labour.
“There was a lot of blood,” Chloe explained to NBC4 adding that her aunt fell down soon after giving birth and then passed out.
Having delivered the baby boy, Chloe grabbed him and cut the umbilical cord before wrapping him in a blanket.
With her aunt still unconscious, she then called 911 and swaddled the baby as she waited for help to arrive.
"I watch YouTube videos about people playing with dolls and I see them care for the babies, so I used stuff I knew from the videos," Chloe told the TV station about how she knew what she wanted to do.
Dominque’s family admitted that the birth of the baby, who has been given the name Isaac, was a surprise as she had kept the pregnancy a secret.
“She didn't tell anybody,” Chloe's mother’s said. “I thought that was her regular stomach.”
Expressing appreciation to her niece for helping her deliver her baby, Dominique said: “'I'm very proud, so that makes me feel good.”
She also added that she didn’t tell her family about her pregnancy because she was ‘scared’.
