Rock ‘n Roll legend Tina Turner has died.

The 83-year-old singer passed on after a long illness.

Popular for her songs Simply The Best, What’s Love Got to Do With It and Private Dancer, among others, the singer was known as the Queen of Rock ‘n Roll.

In a statement, her spokesperson confirmed her passing.

"Tina Turner, the 'Queen of Rock'n Roll' has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.

"With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model."

The singer started out as the lead of the Ike and Tina Turner Revue before branching off as a solo performer, the Guardian reports.

She was diagnosed with intestinal cancer in 2016 and having a kidney transplant in 2017.

Tina, real name Anna Mae Bullock, was born in 1939 and raised in Nutbush, Tennessee.

She started off in a church choir before joining Ike Turner’s band.

Tributes have already started pouring in for the musician, who made a statement with her daring outfits and beautiful big hair.
