If you are a high school pupil who dreams of one day running a successful commercial farm, many people will suggest that you enrol for a diploma at an agricultural college.

Cedara College of Agriculture, in Hilton, near Howick, KwaZulu-Natal, is one of the oldest and most recognised agricultural college and research stations. So when Mnandisi Mdletshe made up his mind that he wanted to pursue a career in farming, that's where he went to enrol for a National Diploma in Agriculture.

After completing his studies, the then 21-year-old, decided to start creating his own opportunities and make it hard for the who's who of KZN's farming community to ignore him.
