Marchiori is a serial trophy winner in Brazil having won seven titles through the last six years

snl24.com/kickoff has been informed about the prospect of Brazilian coach Fernando Marchiori Lavagnoli being the latest young import to arrive in the country to take up a job in domestic football.

Marchiori has just left his job at Brazilian club Portuguesa and has South Africa lined up as one of his options for his next job.

Two South African clubs have been mentioned with talks having already started.

The 42-year-old works with fitness trainer Joao Barboza with former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs forward Pio Noguiera involved as a facilitator.

"Marchiori has been coaching for the past six years and through that time he has won seven titles in different divisions, so he is a winning coach," says Barboza.

"The main difference with him is in the way he integrates the systems in the club and communicating well with all departments involved in the club so that the model of playing and management of players is clear for all. He is also a coach who remains in touch with the youth structures which is what he has done at all the clubs that he has been to. The priority is always to improve the team combining modern systems of football in relation to the resources of the club," says Barboza who speaks both English and Portuguese.

Through his playing career as a midfielder Marchiori had stints in Brazil, France and Spain.

He has been involved at various divisions of Brazilian football including the Serie A with his time spent at clubs as EC Agua Santa, Santo Andre, Cuiba-MT, Maringa FC and Luverdense.

Struggling PSL club TS Galaxy have most recently appointed another young import in Sead Ramovic as their new head coach.

Ramovic (42) comes in with minimal head coaching experience having been an assistant at Serbian club Novi Pazar for five and a half years.
